Driving Change: Navigating Road Safety Awareness at Lords University
In the modern world, transportation and the road have become essential components of every human being. In one way or another, everyone uses the roads. Travel times have decreased, thanks to the modern transportation infrastructure. However, there is now a greater risk to human life. Numerous people suffer serious injuries and thousands of lives are lost in car accidents every year. Approximately 80,000 individuals perish in traffic accidents in India alone each year, accounting for 13% of global fatalities. In the majority of collisions, the driver is mostly to blame. Most crashes are caused by either driver negligence or a lack of awareness about road safety. We should aim at decreasing annual fatalities and injuries on our roads by educating drivers about road safety and promoting safer driving practices among present and potential drivers.
A World Health Organisation report records an alarming need for more progress in putting people at the center of transport systems. The annual number of road traffic deaths has dropped by 5% to 1.19 million per year. According to the Latest Global status report on Road Safety by the World Health Organisation, the annual number of road traffic deaths saw a drop of 5% to around 1.19 million per year. However, the numbers do not show any positivity for India, the numbers continue to rise in India. Globally, two deaths occur per minute, and over 3,200 per day, road traffic crashes are the leading killer of children and young people aged five to 29 years.

His enlightening talk increased awareness and motivated people to take proactive measures to guarantee their safety as well as the safety of other drivers. All things considered, Lords University's road safety awareness program was a major step in encouraging a culture of careful driving and lowering accident rates.
The goal of the road safety awareness campaign was to raise awareness of the value of following traffic laws among university students and the broader public. To emphasize the need to don seatbelts and helmets, and pay attention to traffic signals, many interactive seminars, workshops, and demonstrations were held. The event also highlighted the risks associated with speeding, intoxicated driving, and inattentive driving.
